Practical solutions

AJ Design prides itself on offering thought out practical solutions which meet end user and customer’s needs. Parts are designed with all manufacturing requirements thought through and in the case of injection mouldings for example draw taper and fillet radii are modelled in and if “up and aways”, “moving cores” or features produced on “shut offs” are required sufficient detail is added to computer models so that the tool designer can complete tool designs without asking for concessions which can cause complications and delays.

In the case of fabricated parts or parts not requiring CAD CAM technology toleranced component drawings are produced.

Prototyping

Prototyping is an essential part of the development process and can save time and money if done effectively. Because of the high degree of detail modelled into parts by AJ Design all prototypes reflect what is likely to happen with production parts. For example there has to be no mental compensations done because draw taper has not be built into the prototypes.

All prototyping is sub contracted and a number of contacts have been established for the supply of SLA, FDM, SLS, vac cast and conventional prototypes whether either for visual purposes or testing of mechanical properties.

2D to 3D conversion

A formal draughting apprenticeship has given AJ Design the skills to visualize 2D drawings or sketches very quickly. As a service 3D computer models can be produced from your drawings for either visualisations, prototyping or manufacturing.
